Dr. Calegari grew up in Connecticut. He received his bachelors degree in psychology from the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts. He received his medical degree from the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed an Internal Medicine Internship and residency program at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, Massachusetts. He spent a few years in practice in the Springfield Massachusetts area . He has lived in Bedford New Hampshire for the past 24 years practicing as a board-certified internal medicine specialist. In addition to his primary care practice, he has served as a hospitalist for over 15 years. In 2008, he was elected to the fellowship of the American College of Physicians which recognizes superior competence in internal medicine, professional accomplishment, and demonstrated scholarship.

Outside of medicine, he enjoys spending time with his family, including his wife, Karen, also an internal medicine physician, and his three daughters, Nicole, Carolyn, and Amanda. He enjoys regular exercise, including swimming and playing golf.
